A French Ministery’s transition to Office 365

With the aim of upgrading the employees’ working environment and promote better synergies with outside stakeholders, a major French Ministry with over 25,000 users chose Experteam to assist it with the first stages of its migration to Microsoft Office 365.

Recognised for its expertise in Microsoft solutions, Experteam was chosen to carry out a complex migration (decentralised, multi-tenant, and on the restricted budget of the public sector).

In order to get a precise idea as possible of the Ministry’s migration project, our architects and project managers carried out a scoping study, including:

• An analysis of the existing infrastructure and needs (sharing and storing secure information, improved project management, adapting for mobile working, etc.)
• Defining the various components of the future solution (OneDrive, Teams, Exchange, etc.)
• Devising a complex architecture in line with industry practices and current best practices
• Assessing the compliance of the planned solutions with regulatory and legal requirements
• Drawing up a roadmap and work breakdown structure (WBS)
• Drawing up a detailed estimation for the project based on use cases and emphasising the ROI/VOI
• After the initial study, our experts then drafted an action plan with a series of recommendations in order to give the Ministry’s IT department a comprehensive view and thus make an informed decision and move ahead to complete the project
