With cyberattacks in the retail sector on the increase, Sodexo was looking to transform its POS management.

The project

Sodexo, the world leader in high-quality mass catering services, asked our experts to develop a bespoke solution to ensure easier, more secure management of its 5,600 POS systems all over France.

Project goals

Sodexo decided to deploy this project after realising how difficult it is to successfully manage a fleet of different types of POS systems.
They therefore asked Experteam to develop a specific management solution and set up a technical base to migrate, configurate and industrialise all their POS (Point-Of-Sales) systems to Windows 10.

Simpler, unified POS systems management

What we did

For this project, Experteam’s consultants helped Sodexo’s workstation team with a 5-step method:

  • Audit of the network and site typology
  • Designing the functional and technical architecture
  • Defining use cases
  • Designing and creating a Windows 10 technical base in kiosk mode
  • Analysing the security solutions of the legacy POS systems

After our experts had finished and once the solution had been pilot-tested on a few POS systems, Sodexo was able to deploy an almost completely unified POS management system thanks to a single, homogenous Windows 10® configuration managed by SCCM CB.

In addition, defining security and compliance management processes and best practices improved protection from cyber-attacks.
